Abstract
John L. Nepil explores the "Marian ecclesiology" of Swiss theologian Charles Journet, framing him as a "ressourcement Thomist." By shifting the hierarchy from the Church's formal to its efficient cause, Journet identifies the Holy Spirit as its uncreated soul and Mary as its mystical personality. Defining the Church as "without sin" due to its Marian core, Journet presents Mary as the Church’s prototypical realization and modalizing form.
